The talents, positive attitude and skills of Bridge of Don Academy pupils were showcased as part of this annual event to celebrate the successes of Aberdeen’s children and young people. The event, held at the beach ballroom from 7 – 9 pm, was sponsored by DYW North East, Stewart Milne Homes, VSA and BP. Nominees were treated to a buffet and received their awards from a number of high profile Aberdeen City leaders including the Director of Education and Children’s Services, Gayle Gorman. There was entertainment provided by a number of schools including Bridge of Don Academy school choir. Members of the audience went out of their way to tweet and tell me personally how much they enjoyed their outstanding performance. I agree their singing was amazing i felt very proud! I look forward to hearing them again – more on this later!
The S6 leadership class from session 2015-16 were nominated for the Enterprising Young People Award for their work in leadership activities with Elevator, their work with S3 pupils in school and their organisation of the School Sports Awards ceremony. Although they did not win it was good to see their hard work recognised.
