Getting It Right For Every Child – often called GIRFEC for short – is the Scottish Government’s policy to ensure that the wellbeing of children and young people is at the heart of all children’s services in Scotland. A new law – the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 – contains measures based on the GIRFEC principles, which are aimed at helping children, young people and their families understand their wellbeing and how to support it.
