Article 10 – Family Reunification.
Governments must respond quickly and sympathetically if a child or their parents apply to live together in the same country. If a child’s parents live apart in different countries, the child has the right to visit and keep in contact with both of them.
International Migrants Day is on Sunday the 18 December, and is a day which recognises the contributions migrations have made to society and promotes the respect of their basic human rights. This is especially relevant in the world around us right now with the war in Ukraine as well as the failure of Qatar’s government to protect the rights of migrant workers during the World Cup, both of these issues being very prevalent in the news lately and raising awareness to the importance of migrants’ rights.
