With support from the Parent Council we were able to invite the children’s author and screenwriter, Barry Hutchison into the school. He firstly worked with S4 pupils, helping them with their creative writing technique and then went on to give a highly entertaining talk to two S1 classes. The pupils really enjoyed hearing about his horror series Invisible Fiends and found his tales and anecdotes (many of which find their way into his books) very funny.
