Countdown to a #FairtradeChristmas – Day 6

Countdown to a #FairtradeChristmas – Day 6

Who are you?: Fraser Lovie. I’m a member of the Aberdeen Fairtrade Steering Group and a former pupil at Bridge of Don Academy (82-88).

What is your Fairtrade item?: Bala Sport Rugby Balls & Footballs

Why?: They’re colourful, they’re amazing quality, and as a Fairtrade product, they are making a difference to the lives of factory workers in India and Pakistan! These great looking and great quality rugby, football, and futsal balls are manufactured by skilled workers in India and Pakistan for Bala.  And the Fairtrade accreditation means we can be confident those workers are getting a fair deal for their labour.

So if your school team want to make an ethical statement … or you just want a colourful new ball for your park kickabout … have a think about making it a Fairtrade ball.

To meet some of the workers benefitting from every Bala ball sold go to https://www.balasport.co.uk/our-workers/.

Below are a couple of videos to see the Bala footballs in action.
