Congratulations to the U13 football team who have made it through to the next round of the Scottish Plate competition. They beat Carnoustie High School 4-3 yesterday in a tight game. After conceding an early goal, the boys rallied with Kelvin motivating the boys and showing impressive leadership qualities in his first game as captain. Some good plays from the boys in midfield led to two goals from Simone and one from John. Despite some unbelievable saves from Kerr between the posts, Carnoustie managed to score a second. Not long after, Bridge of Don were on the attack again and after a foul from Carnoustie inside the box, Aiden sent the ball in to the back of the net from the penalty spot. Carnoustie fought back and scored a third time but some tactical substitutions from Scott K (3rd year coach) meant that Bridge of Don kept their composure and earned a tie in the next round against Beath High School. The boys played some very good football – displaying great skill, creativity and teamwork. Well done to all the boys and good luck in the next round.
