S4 Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 30 October 2013

S4 Parents’ Consultation Evening 2013/14

The S4 Parents’ Consultation Evening for Session 2013/2014 takes place on Wednesday 30 October, from 5.00pm until 7.30pm.  We operate an appointments system, as we do with all of our Parents’ Consultation Evenings in school, with the Assembly Room and the Canteen used for the discussions.  You will be issued with a rooming plan on the evening itself when you sign in at the main entrance or community entrance.

Pupils will be given an appointment sheet on the first day back after the October holidays and will be asked to make appointments with the subject teachers you would like to meet on Parents’ Evening.  They should take this sheet to each teacher who will then enter the exact time of the appointment.  Appointments will be strictly limited to five minutes to enable staff to see as many parents as possible. If as a result of special difficulties a five-minute appointment is inadequate, or if for any reason a particular member of staff is unavailable, we can make special arrangements for you to meet those teachers at a later date during the school day.  There will be seats to wait and tea and coffee available for a small donation to the school fund.  Please sign out before you leave.

Please note that this is the only Parents’ Consultation Evening for S4.   It gives you the chance to discuss your son or daughter’s progress in their new National courses, homework and coursework, and also an opportunity to discuss how you can best support them in their study programme, in preparation for their estimate exams, at home.  With the formal Scottish Qualifications estimate exams due to begin in a couple of months, it is now vital that your son or daughter works to the best of their ability in the remaining time left so that they can achieve the grades they are capable of to allow them to progress with the next step of their career pathway.

I hope you have an enjoyable evening and find the discussions helpful and informative.
